Angelfish: Most Recognized Freshwater Fish.

  Angel fish is from the family of Cichlidae and belongs to the genus of Pterophyllum. These fishes are originally from South America. Different types of these fishes are found in Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Brazil and Peru. These fishes are named after marine angelfish, one should not confuse freshwater angelfish and marine angelfish. Angelfish bodies are laterally compressed, round in shape and have elongated triangular dorsal and anal fins. Body shape of angelfish helps them to hide among roots and plants.  Angelfish Grown angelfish can have body length of 6 inch and height of 8 inch. In a clean environment and with minimal stress angelfish will have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years. These fishes are peaceful in nature and well suited for the community tank with the right set of tan mates.   Millionfish and rainbow fish are the other names for the guppies. Guppies originally appeared from  northeast South America and nowadays can be found in all over the world.  They're named  for Robert John Lechmere Guppy who collected  these fish on the island  of Trinidad. There are many color varieties of guppies. Based on  the variety , some guppies posses short , rounded tails , some V-shaped  and others can own  an elongated tail  half the  breadth of  their body .
