Breeding
It is hard to spot the difference between male and female in angelfish. Adult angelfish will pair-off and breed readily. They clean a flat vertical surface to lay the eggs. Spawning occurs with females laying eggs on the prepared surface and male following with fertilization.
Angelfish can produce 1000 eggs upon spawning and about 300 to 600 fry will hatch. Survival rate of these fries will be low and most of them won't make it to adulthood.
Tank and Water Conditions
Angelfish will grow quite large, so larger aquariums are preferred. Tall aquariums are best to accommodate their body shape. Decorate aquarium with some broadleaf plants, driftwood arranged vertically. Few floating plants will provide some shaded areas or cover.
Since nowadays most of the angelfish are captive raised, will adjust most of the water conditions. Temperature range of 26 degree to 29 degree C is the best. Maintaining a good filtration system and regular water change is recommended.
